Newport International University began as a part of Newport University, which was founded in 1976 in California. In 2001, Newport International University became a separate independent institution.
In keeping with its original purpose, NIU fosters an interest in global learning and has affiliations with leading E-LEARNING throughout the world in delivering an American curriculum to interested students.
