Associate Degree: A minimum of ninety (90) quarter units is required for graduation, including a minimum of forty-five (45) quarter units of study applicable to the General Education Requirement, including the prescribed number of units, in the areas of English, (10 quarter units); Natural Science, (5 quarter units); Mathematics, (10 quarter units); Humanities, (10 quarter units); Social Science, (10 quarter units). 

Bachelors Degree: A minimum of one hundred and eighty (180) quarter units is required for graduation. A minimum of forty-five (45) units of study applicable to the General Education Requirement, including the prescribed number of units, in the areas of English, (10 quarter units); Natural Science, (5 quarter units); Mathematics, (10 quarter units); Humanities, (10 quarter units); Social Science/ History, (10 quarter units), Written and Oral Communications (10 quarter units)
Each of the undergraduate degree programs must include a minimum of 25% of the program as general education.

Masters Degree: A minimum of forty-five (45) quarter units is required beyond the bachelor's degree.

Doctoral Degree: A minimum of one hundred and five (105) quarter units is required beyond the Bachelor's Degree.
* Students who select the Ph.D. Option must complete a dissertation as a part of the doctoral requirements
At the time of admission, each student will be assigned a Graduate Committee from the Study Center in which they are enrolled that will consist of no less than three or more than five members. 
The Graduate committee will approve the student’s program of studies, provide guidance during the course of the program, approve the dissertation topic, review all examinations and conduct a defense and/or final oral at a site to be determined by the committee.
The PhD may carry a Special Graduate Committee administrative fee as determined by the Study Center.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  To be completed at Newport International University
1. The student must complete a minimum number of   units at Newport International University. 

1. A minimum of 25 quarter units at the associates level,
2. A minimum of 45 units quarter at  the Bachelor’s level,
3. A minimum of 35 quarter units at the master's level, and
4. No transfer credit accepted at the doctoral level.

2. Graduation requires a minimum of:

• 90 quarter units at the associate’s level,
• 180 quarter units at the bachelor's level,
• 45 quarter units of graduate study at the master's level and
• 60 quarter units of graduate study beyond the Master’s level, at the doctoral level.
